Coffee Journal City Guide
Women-led award-winners and Midlands micro-roasters — KZN's specialty coffee scene.
Durban and KwaZulu-Natal may have fewer roasters than Cape Town, but the ones here punch well above their weight. Humble Coffee has become one of SA's most-awarded cafés, and Bluebird in the Midlands has quietly stacked three Coffee Magazine Awards in five years.
This guide covers every KZN roaster in Coffee Journal's directory — each one scored on roast-date transparency, origin detail, SCA scores, and sustainability.
